This course has been designed for both the Public Sector and the Private Sector but with more emphasis on the Private Sector. The course has been divided into two (2) parts. The first part focuses on Oil Politics and the second part focuses on Local Content. Companies within the Oil and Gas Industry can only excel, make maximum impact as well as achieve their set goals when they acknowledge and appreciate the fact that the Oil Industry is very political and highly volatile.

Oil companies especially must understand the level of volatility within the Oil Industry in order to know how to strategically position themselves. Many people are tempted to believe that local content has to do with oil companies offering job opportunities to the local people. Even though it is very true, there are other areas of local content which presents opportunities to local SME’s/Entrepreneurs/the Private Sector.

This course is a 5 day module that focuses on building the capacity and enlightening both the Public Sector and the Private Sector on how to strategically position themselves considering the level of politics in the industry as well as opportunities available especially to the Private Sector as contained in the Local Content Regulation (L.I 2204).
